Dumbest dating advice I ever heard
In college - I had a "friend" who insisted that women don't like men who laugh too much. It lead to a REALLY boring date, as I tried to "play it cool". She never wanted to go on a second date.

Several years ago, after ending a relationship (amicably), my now-former girlfriend received some advice from her roommate, who said:
"The most important thing is: You HAVE to find someone new before he does. You don't want to be the second person to move on."
